However, even in those moments of total stoppage, there were moments that offered an escape from the everyday. One such moment was our summer holiday, which we chose to spend in the heart of nature in <a href=\"https:\/\/millavintage.com\/2017\/07\/04\/locuri-pe-care-sa-le-vezi-pe-insula-elba\/\">Tuscany.<\/a> We chose accommodation that included a swimming pool, where we could relax in peace and quiet, avoiding the crowds of beaches. And yet, in those days spent in the heart of Tuscany, we took a day trip to Siena. Recently, I found the photos from that trip and felt a strong urge to share with you the experience of a day spent in this city steeped in history and culture.<\/em><\/h5>\n<p>Siena is a medieval walled city of streets paved with pietra serena and red brick buildings. The <strong>Historic Centre<\/strong> is completely closed to traffic, and if you want to visit <strong>Siena<\/strong> by strolling quietly through its streets, follow the tips (which I leave below) and enjoy the city.<\/p>\n<p>If you have a little time to spare, my walking itinerary for a day will be enough to give you an idea of the beauty of Siena.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>One Day Itinerary in Siena<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>\u00a0Piazza del Campo and Palazzo Pubblico<\/strong><strong>Morning<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Our day in <strong>Siena<\/strong> began in the famous <strong>Piazza del Campo<\/strong> (in the rain, as you can see from the photos).<\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-43896\" src=\"https:\/\/millavintage.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Siena-Italia4-1.jpg\" alt=\"Siena- piazza del campo\" width=\"800\" height=\"1200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/millavintage.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Siena-Italia4-1.jpg 800w, https:\/\/millavintage.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Siena-Italia4-1-320x480.jpg 320w, https:\/\/millavintage.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Siena-Italia4-1-560x840.jpg 560w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/>Piazza del Campo, <\/strong>renowned for its unique shell shape and for the Palio, the horse race, an event not to be missed if you visit the city in July or August.
