Luino- Ponte Tresa is a special tourist destination in north-western Italy, located in the province of Varese. The area stretches along the shores of Lake Maggiore and offers opportunities for various tourist activities, such as hiking, water sports and exploring the natural landscapes.<\/p>\n

About 80 km from Milan is the province of Varese, where you’ll find several beautiful mountain villages stretching along Lake Maggiore. A perfect combination for holidays, whatever the season.<\/p>\n

I arrived in these parts around the beginning of 2013. It was January and a few layers of snow had just settled outside. This area was just right for a mini-hike and a breath of healthy air.<\/p>\n

Luino and Ponte Tresa have a rich history, stretching back to Roman times. During the 19th century, the area became known as a tourist destination for the European aristocracy, who came here to enjoy the mild climate and beautiful natural scenery.<\/p>\n
