Discovering the beauty of Lake Com

Lake Como is famous for its outstanding landscapes, picturesque towns and romantic atmosphere. On this fascinating journey, we explore two lakeside destinations: Lecco and Lierna.

What to visit in the City of Lecco

Last Sunday we took a trip to the shores of Lake Como, with our first stop in Lecco.

With the day being sunny and temperatures reaching 26 degrees, it was perfect for a trip out of Milan.

From Milan to Lecco is about 50 kilometres, a journey that can easily be covered by car in less than an hour following the SS36.

Arriving in Lecco, I was greeted by a vibrant atmosphere in the city centre, where local cafes and boutiques were showing off their hospitality. We took the opportunity to enjoy a homemade ice cream before heading to the promenade along the lake, an ideal place to capture the smooth beauty of the water.

Tourist Attractions in Lecco

Founded in ancient times, Lecco has a rich history spanning thousands of years. This picturesque town has been an important cultural and commercial centre since Roman times. Today, Lecco preserves many historical relics that fascinate visitors.

Among Lecco’s most notable attractions is Castel Visconti, an impressive medieval fortress built in the 14th century.

The San Nicolò Cathedral is also an architectural masterpiece worth visiting for its Gothic beauty.

What to visit near Lecco: discover Lierna

As the afternoon progressed and the crowds gathered, we decided to explore further, arriving in Lierna.

Lierna is a small picturesque village where tourists can find peace and quiet away from the tourist hustle and bustle. The place is perfect for reconnecting with nature and contemplating the breathtaking scenery overlooking the “Riviera delle Azalee”. Here, we spent hours reflecting and breathing in the fresh mountain air.

Lierna also offers hiking trails that lead to panoramic views of the lake and small hidden beaches, ideal for a quiet afternoon. Don’t miss Lierna Castle, dating from the Middle Ages, which offers a glimpse into the area’s rich past.

About my outfit this day

For this getaway, I chose an outfit that reflects the spirit of the place: a long dress adorned with a floral print in shades of blue and white, reminiscent of the lake waves and clear skies.

The dress’s sheer material dances in the light breeze, while the feminine cut elegantly highlights the silhouette. The puffed sleeves and generous V-neckline are details that evoke sensuality and sophistication, an homage to classic beauty.
