Located on the southern coast of Sardinia, Villasimius boasts some of the most beautiful beaches in Italy.
Among these jewels, Plaja is Traias stands out with its pristine sand and crystal clear turquoise waters. As you step onto the beach, you’ll be greeted by a breathtaking panorama that stretches as far as the eye can see. The sea breeze and the calm sound of waves crashing on the shore create a soothing atmosphere, perfect for relaxation and rejuvenation.
This beach is perfect for the whole family, including children, as the seabed is shallow and slopes gently towards the water. So you can enjoy swimming and relaxing without any worries.
If you’re a keen snorkeller, you’ll be delighted to discover that Is Traias beach is in the Capo Carbonara Marine Protected Area, where you’ll encounter an impressive diversity of marine life. This is an excellent opportunity to explore the underwater beauty of the sea and enjoy direct contact with nature.
Nearby, you’ll also find Porto Luna beach with golden sand. These two beaches beautifully complement the landscape of the area and are surrounded by villas offering spectacular views of the sea.
If you’re a history buff, you can take a little trip to the nearby necropolis of Accu Is Traias. Here you’ll find 30 tombs from Roman times, some of which are in very good condition. Archaeological finds inside the tombs, such as amphorae and funerary objects, bear witness to the region’s rich history.
It is important to note that Is Traias beach does not offer services or facilities and parking is free. However, despite this, the beach is quite busy even in the busy season. It is a favourite with tourists for its beauty and relaxing atmosphere.
If you choose to spend a holiday in Sardinia, you should not miss Is Traias beach. You can also explore other nearby beaches, such as Villasimius beach, Simius beach or Porto Giunco beach, which are considered among the most beautiful in Sardinia. You are sure to have a memorable holiday in this picturesque region of Italy.
