Halkidiki. Impressions and tips about a holiday in Paradise

Greece has always fascinated me and I’ve wanted to visit it for a while. True,  in a few days stay you can’t see all the beauties of this country, but anyway you can change the climatic air and whatever region you choose, you find wonderful landscapes and a great culture.

Last year, in May, we had our first contact with Greece. A weekend mini-vacation by the sea in Greece was just perfect to start the summer season with new strength. In May in Greece we found a lot of sunshine and beautiful days, good for sunbathing and swimming, even if the weather in Italy or in our country was not yet suitable for that.

10 reasons for a seaside holiday in Halkidiki

The chosen destination was the Halkidiki region. An area worth discovering for all tourists. So, I am going to tell you about this beautiful region and the experience I had in three days in Greece and I want to convince you to go there next season.

Greece has always impressed me for its culture and history. Temples, ancient cities, archaeological excavations and the sea-mountain combination are just a few elements that characterise the land of the gods. I would love to go back again to visit more historically charged areas.

Returning to Halkidiki, it is a peninsula in north-eastern Greece, made up of three ‘arms’: Kassandra, Sithonia, Mount Athos. The whole area is particularly beautiful.

Thessaloniki is the largest city in the area. Culturally, 1-2 days are enough to visit Thessaloniki, and from here you can easily rent a car to visit the entire Halkidiki area.

Neos Marmaras and the vintage air of Greece’s Secret Paradise

Kassandra is the first arm of the Halkidiki peninsula, characterized by several resorts, hotels, restaurants for all tastes and nightclubs. So it is an area suitable for tourists looking for fun and new experiences.

Sithonia– is the middle arm of the Halkidiki region, it is the most suitable area for those who want secluded bays, beaches and beautiful scenery, and the sea is gorgeous. This is where I have been and if you get the chance, I suggest you go too, especially those who love peace and quiet or want to relax like in paradise. I liked it very much, the beaches are very clean and airy, that is to say without too many people, where you can also do topless or you can also find more isolated beaches, where you can really live your moments of solitude and peace or complete freedom.

Mount Athos, is the third arm of the Halkidiki peninsula. Home to many Orthodox monasteries and churches, it is a very beautiful and peaceful area for those who want to find spiritual renewal.
